Chartered Accountant - BAS Intermediate to Senior

This well established and highly successful South Auckland CA firm needs a 'STAR' Chartered Accountant to work closely with Partners to perform consulting and compliance work.

You will look after the already existing MYOB Live/Essentials section of clients. The ownership of these clients is strictly yours providing an autonomous working structure. The objective of the role would be to become their in house client systems go to person. This is a great opportunity to stamp your mark and showcase your skills. You may also have Xero knowledge and experience which would benefit other clients.

This practice has a good footing in the local community with a mix of local business including farming and horticulture in different stages of business growth. They are an ATO, and have very good quality systems in place.

To be a success, you must be:

  • Confident in dealing with clients and can think on your feet
  • MYOB Live/Essentials/XERO experience an advantage also
  • 3-4+ years of BAS experience
  • Able to fit in with a down to earth team and group of clients

They are looking for an experienced Collections Officer to join their Collections team on a temporary basis.

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in legal - performing and non performing  specialist
  • make payment arrangements and an "out of the box thinker"
  • Experience working in banking or finance environment  
  • Understanding of consumer finance and associated legislation 
  • Ability to deal with high volume of customers  
  • Handling inbound and outbound collection calls 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

About the role

Key Duties;         

- Organising all invoices to be approved by the correct manager in a timely manner across all depots

- Coding and entering all invoices into Finance 1

- Preparing payments for 20th of the month and 7 day accounts 

- Assisting with month end requirements ie journals, reconciliations

- Processing credits on customer accounts and bad debt write offs

- Bank reconciliation.

- Preparing weekly payroll for third party processing and calculating sales rep commission

- Ordering stationery, amenities up-keep

- Customer reconciliations and invoicing

- Other administrative tasks as required by office manager

- Assisting with incoming Accounts Receivable phone calls

Key Skills:

- Prior Accounts Payable experience with high volume processing
