Area Sales Manager

Great role with a company established in the 1920’s with several divisions throughout NZ.  They are on e of the largest privately owned companies in their field who have supplied many of the biggest construction projects in NZ.  Due to an internal promotion they are on the hunt for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join the Auckland team.  The prime objective of this division of the company is to provide quality pipe, fittings, valves and associated products to the infrastructure, irrigation, mining and process markets within NZ and Pacific regions. 

To be considered for this role you will possess the following skills and experience:

• Strong sales acumen with at least 10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Previous experience in the civil, construction and infrastructure sector.
• Ability to build strong networks and turn leads into viable sales
• Proven negotiation skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, CRM)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or similar
• Able to assimilate new technology with ease.

Job Description

Your new role will be focused on managing the team to ensure all legislative requirements are met, clients are receiving exceptional service and you will be implementing systems, processes and clients as needed.   Your main responsibilities would be but not limited to;

• Staff management of over 20, including being involved in training, mentoring, KPI monitoring, and disciplinary actions if required
• Stock management including inventory receipting, orders, stocktakes and reconciliations
• Liaising with various departments and service providers to ensure efficiency
• Implementing new accounts and working with the sales team
• Scheduling team's tasks

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone;

• Minimum of MPI Accreditation Certificate, with MPI Transitional Facilities Operators Certificate a definite advantage.
• Proven experience in a similar role, and a clear understanding of MPI, HACCP and H&S Essential
• Able to display implementation and improvement strategies .
• Strong, flexible and loyal leader who has experience working with warehouse and transport staff
• Able to be hands on and an excellent communicator
