Sales Engineer/Business Development

 

With a head office in Auckland our client has operations throughout NZ and across the globe.  They are a true Kiwi success story.  They are market leaders in the fluid transfer solution products and services.  Their reputation is excellent providing customers with high quality products and superior levels of customer service and support.  They currently have an exciting Business Development specialist to join their team.  This could suit an ambitious graduate with plans to develop a career as a Sales Engineer.  Based in Auckland with regular out of town travel this role reports directly to the National Sales Manager.

The main purpose of this role will be to build and foster relationships with Franchisees, their customers and increase wholesale and retail sales in line with budget requirements for the company and the franchise network.

To be considered for this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Comfortable working from the boardroom to busy manufacturing environments
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics) preferred
  • Able to work with a high degree of autonomy and prepared to travel regularly outside of Auckland. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Franchise owner as well as major customers and stakeholders. 
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Previous experience in a sales role managing call cycles and achieving sales targets preferred.
  • Ability to assimilate new technology with ease and quickly understand customer requirements
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and driven candidate who can consult with clients and introduce the most appropriate solutions to existing and prospective new clients. 

The position requires a candidate who is open and flexible.  Attention to detail, planning, organizing and time management skills are a must for the role.  The perfect candidate will be confident with presenting in developing and maintaining key relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and close a pipeline of opportunities to exceed targets
  • Understand client requirements through Key Account Management, retaining current business and organically growing these relationships by introducing new products
  • Perform business and channel development to acquire business
  • Perform partner and direct sales activities 
  • Perform the full cycle of in field sales including sales qualification, demonstrations and closing the deal
